"I was stuck at home due to snow and ice on the roads for three days last week and was working on a lot of projects, but after Thursday's call I got on the phone and would not get off until I got a new client.
It didn't really take all that long, but I did make several calls, and I had a referral from one of my Divorce Recovery clients. His girlfriend is going to start the Divorce Recovery coaching that I do on Tuesday afternoon (tomorrow), with the intention of moving on into the RESTS program as soon as we complete the Divorce Recovery program. He may be joining her at that time with the RESTS program, as well.
In addition, my calling and following up with previous Divorce Recovery clients have added a RESTS mini-class that starts tomorrow evening with four new RESTS clients. In addition to that, I received a call this morning from a person I had contacted that same day saying she could not attend tomorrow's class, but wanted private RESTS coaching. And, there may be a couple of others that said they were going to get back to me.
As a result of all this, my income for this month is already about halfway to the amount I set that I would like to be making at the end of the three months.
THANK YOU for your support and challenging encouragement! I have needed that.
PS: Jackie, I will keep up my momentum by continuing to call people from my database for at least an hour each workday that I am not seeing clients. Also, I will not hesitate to have another 24-Hour Challenge for myself when needed.

"My first workshop was a HIT! It went exceptionally well! I prepared all of my materials the night before - I put together very nice packets with lots of info for each participant. I also typed up name tags for every one. I must say that the presentation was very professional. The morning of, I ate a nice breakfast, did some affirmations, prayer and quiet time and went into the city determined that this workshop would be a huge success.
A girlfriend of mine took care of signing people in and collecting money allowing me to greet everyone personally as they entered the room. I shook everyone's hand and spoke to every woman individually. I had Stevie Wonder music playing in the background as people were coming in and getting settled.
I had a total of 20 women in the room - which was great for the first time around. Out of the 20 - 16 of those women heard me on the radio and made a decision to attend. The energy in the room was great! If I didn't know any better, I would think that we had all met and done this before. The personalities and input of the audience are what can make or break it for you.
The 2 hours went by really quick! I thought I would feel like,"Boy am I glad this is over" when it was over, but instead I felt like "Boy, I can't wait to do this again!"
The next workshop is March 20th and it will include men and women. I expect double plus this crowd. I plan to do a workshop every other month and a monthly telegathering in between to follow-up and keep the connection to the group. I got one individual coaching client out of this bunch.
Minni Richardson, an RCI Coach showed up to lend her support. We finally had an opportunity to meet face to face. She's a very nice lady! Hope you all have an opportunity to meet her one day.
For those of you that have never led your own workshop - I say to you - "Just Do It!" The feeling is very liberating and in the process you learn so much about how to do it even better the second, third, fourth........times around.
I had a successful radio interview last month that filled my first workshop and they want me back next month (they actually want to try me out once a month) so I am now planning a meet and greet, social Discussion type of event right before Valentines Day. Singles and Couples are welcomed. We are going to use the game Men are from Mars Women are from Venus as an icebreaker/discussion opener - there will also be comedy, music, food, drinks etc.
It was amaaazing!!! I am on my way to securing a spot as their regular Relationship Coach. This interview came right on time for me because as of last week Wednesday, I was going to cancel my workshop happening this Saturday because no one had registered but thanks to this interview - I now have a total of 25 people registered. Isn't that great?!
When I returned to my office from the interview, there were 15 messages waiting for me and people have been calling all week - I even received a call this morning from someone wanting to register.
The producer of the show said to me,"Yvonne, you'r e coming back up here whether you want to or not!" One of the other hosts said to me, "Yvonne, I love your energy - I feel like I've known you all my life."
People have been calling me asking me when I will be back on that morning show.”

"Although the format changed somewhat from your suggestions, my talk went really well. I am invited to do a workshop at a convention next month. It's a paid gig. Yeah! THE MIRACLE OF CONNECTION: DISSOLVING THE
POWER STRUGGLE

Hedy Schleifer recently gave a presentation in which she shared very intimately about her personal relationship journey with Yumi, her husband of 38 years, and what she is currently learning about “The Miracle of Connection.”
My words cannot possibly do justice to the way Hedy speaks from her heart and wisdom in her melodious voice and loving presence, so in this article I will simply summarize her main points and strongly recommend listening to her presentation yourself, which is only 22 minutes (edited version) and available on my website at http://www.relationshipcoachinginstitute.com/hedyyumi.html
MAIN MESSAGE:
Intimacy and love expands our essence, and can deepen and grow infinitely.
RELATIONSHIP SKILLS FOR DISSOLVING THE POWER STRUGGLE
(Taught in Hedy and Yumi’s “Adventures in Intimacy” workshop. Note that I am paraphrasing)
The ability to be fully present and receive your partner fully during good AND hard times.
The ability to communicate your issues and needs immediately with love and acceptance of your partner.
The ability to stay connected when upset (instead of withdrawal or attack)
The ability to express frustration positively, with an attitude of generosity and adventure for the opportunity to connect more deeply and grow even more.
The ability to receive your partner’s issues and requests positively, welcoming them as opportunities to connect more deeply and grow even more.
(Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be in a relationship with these skills?)
CONCLUSIONS FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE POWER STRUGGLE
(Long-term results of practicing the skills taught in Hedy and Yumi’s workshop)
It is through connection (not insight) that we can train our“old brain” (fight or flight responses) to truly feel safe with our partner.
Staying in connection with our partner creates new neural pathways and enhances “object constancy” so we can experience love even when hurting or upset.
Our willingness to own our “denied adaptations” (unconscious maladaptive response patterns) can free us to expand and live in our essence.
We really can stay connected and give and receive love deeply, even during conflict.
We need support and other couples. Our relationship can continually grow, especially with the support of other couples, mentors, and coaches.
