CONGRATS TO Charlie Siegel (CA), Faith Meenan (CO), and Anne Ryan
(Canada), who attended the Coachville conference in Las Vegas and helped
spread the word about RCI.
As our Marketing Co-Director Colleen DeCew gushes:
"The Coachville exhibit table was a huge success! Anne, Faith
and Charlie, you did an incredible job. Collectively, you obtained
66 completed forms and we actually ran out of flyers. Whoever thought
that in two hours you would give out over 110 sets of flyers and info,
yet you were on top of everything!"
CONGRATS TO Roz Van Meter (TX) for completing her new e-book
"Sizzling Sex In 30 Days" which is almost ready for release.
I confess that I peeked, and it is excellent! Check out Roz's new web
site at http://www.sexualitycoach.com
CONGRATS TO Paulette Bethel (TX) who writes:
"This weekend I did a workshop as part of a Regional Headstart Association
Conference. I made 45 copies of my handout and ran out. To my surprise,
I had about 45 men and 10 women in the room! The title of the workshop
was "Love Makeover: Live the Life That You Love with the Love of
Your Life." I opened the workshop with sharing my involvement with
RelationshipCoachingInstitute
Within 10 minutes of walking out of my session, one of the top directors
came up to me and said "I have already heard several times that your
workshop was awesome!" I had people through out the remainder of
the day (who had not attended the workshop) coming up to me and asking
for copies of my handout and the web site address for the RCI! Thanks
for your vision and all that you have done to assist others with improving
their relationships."
CONGRATS TO Marita Dullard (Australia) who writes:
"I wanted to share with you all that I have just taken on the role
of Co-President of the ICFA.
The RCI coaches are infiltrating.. :-)
This is an exciting time with the inaugural ICF regional conference
being held in Sydney July 4-7th this year. The theme of this conference
is 'The Spirit of Coaching, the Spirit of Success.' If you ever needed
an excuse to come and visit our beautiful city, you now have the best
possible one. I assure you we Australians really do know how to make people
welcome!"
CONGRATS TO Susan Chapman (KY), who writes:
"I've been helping people with computer issues for years and have
been helping my fellow coaches for 2 years now. I have launched a new
site to provide website solutions. I hope you'll check it out and let
me know if I can be of any service to you. www.coachtechtools.com"

Relationship Coaching Technology:
PHILOSOPHY OF REQUIREMENTS
By Deki Fox, RCI Coach
Relationship Coaching includes the interplay of our IDEA about our life
and relationships and the EXPERIENCE of living our life and relationships.
We are not separate from our "stuff." Our "stuff"
is the "stuff" of requirements.
Requirements are the conditions we bring to life because of who we uniquely
ARE; they also define how we have grown and developed up until this present
moment.
Requirements protect our vulnerable selves from harm, they can also optimize
the expression of our unique contribution to life.
Requirements clarify the way my experience of life has shaped me. They
say "Here I am." with profound implications.
It is easy to be seen in our physical shape because we have the boundary
of our skin. Requirements make it possible to define our emotional, mental
and spiritual "skin" so that we can better understand where
the boundaries of these subtle bodies ends and where touching one another's
heart and soul begins.
Requirements say, "I like being touched by life THIS way."
Unfortunately, we all have some life experience that has touched us in
ways we did not like, and this experience defines us to some extent. As
we can OWN this definition/boundary and protect our vulnerability by clearly
stating the requirements, we are more alive and secure and capable of
touching and being touched by others.
Life experience generates requirements. Owning and naming what we require
optimizes awareness and puts us fully into life's flow.
Each requirement is like having another paddle in the water as we move
our relation-ship along the river of this lifetime.
If you wonder if you have "too many" paddles in the water,
try sorting your requirements according to "protect my vulnerability"
vs. "fulfill my life purpose" and see what happens.
--------------------------------------------------------
***Editor's note: THANK YOU Deki for this articulate and profound expression
of what requirements are about. I would like to add- It doesn't matter
WHY you have a requirement, even if from a childhood wound, it is critical
to the success of your relationships.
Practice Tips:
7 EASY STEPS TO A BASIC WEB SITE
By David Steele
I am writing this article assuming you don't have a web site yet, and
know absolutely nothing about them. Hopefully there will be some gems
for web-savvy readers as well.
External marketing, meaning new clients from your web site, or selling
products and services on your web site, is beyond the scope of this article.
At it's most elemental, a web site is an on-line brochure for internal
marketing to your existing leads, a way for prospective clients to learn
more about you.
Just as most helping professionals have a business card and brochure,
most should have at least a basic web site. Most prospective clients have
internet access and would check your web site if you referred them. Your
web site can provide information about you and your services that inform
and attract your prospective clients, helping them make the leap from
first learning about you to hiring you.
Here are some suggestions for getting started:
1. GET A DOMAIN NAME
I strongly suggest you decide upon a domain name for your web site and
e-mail that expresses what you do. Even if you don't intend to have a
web site, Barbara@GreatCoach.com is far more effective and professional
than Barb123@aol.com
I recommend www.verio.com for searching
and purchasing your domain name. The cost is $19.00 per year, with discounts
for paying for more years in advance. Verio is a large, well-established
internet provider, and their customer service is very good.
You can also use your own name as your domain name, either with a "dot
com" address as in Coach@DavidSteele.com or with the new "dot
name" domain as in David@Steele.name. I use David@Steele.name as
my personal e-mail address, and http://www.David.Steele.name for my personal
web site address.
You can get an advertisement-free web site with e-mail and user-friendly
do-it-yourself web building tools for $4.95 per month. Make sure to choose
the option that will let you use your domain name as the web site address.
Option B: IF YOU USE A WEBMASTER
If you plan to hire a web master, you should still design your own content
and choose a web host. For a full featured, inexpensive web host, I recommend
www.fastwebserver.com , which
also has a do-it-yourself web building tool. For $13.00 per month, you
will have all the features and memory you need, for much less than most
other web hosts. They charge $15.00 per year for domain names, but don't
provide discounts for purchasing more than one year like Verio.
Option C: USING YOUR CURRENT ISP
You use your Internet Service Provider to dial into the internet, and
to send and receive e-mail. Many ISPs provide web hosting, and it may
even be an included feature of your account that you are not using. Before
spending money on a web host, make sure you don't already have one with
your current ISP.
3. LINK YOUR DOMAIN NAME TO YOUR WEB HOST
Once you sign up with a web host, you will get the info you need to go
to Verio or wherever you purchased your domain name, to link your domain
name to your web host. If you can't figure out how to do this yourself,
call tech support. This is where your choice of vendor makes a difference
beyond price- Verio tech support will hold your hand and do it for you,
and I've had tremendous trouble even finding the contact information for
tech support for some internet providers.
4. CONFIGURE YOUR E-MAIL SOFTWARE TO USE YOUR NEW DOMAIN NAME
You will need to change your e-mail settings to show your domain name
on the "From" and "Reply To" fields, as well as download
and send your e-mail from your new web host's server. In Outlook Express,
you click Tools, Accounts, Add, then follow the wizard's instructions.
Your web host will provide the settings and passwords needed- make sure
to print out and keep the document from them with this information.
5. DESIGN CONTENT
Even if using a web master, you need to decide what you want on your
web site and provide them the content. They can give you ideas about appearance,
navigation, and features, but you need to take charge of the content.
Be sure to check out other like professionals' web sites to get ideas
for yours.
Just like a brochure, you want to have information about you and your
services, but I suggest you also provide articles and content of value
for your prospective clients. What do you want them to know that would
encourage them to hire you? The more value you provide on your web site,
the better your results will be. If you have written some articles, this
is a great place to showcase your work. You can obtain content from other
web sites and authors, just be sure to request their permission.
TIPS:
-Make your web pages interesting with graphics and/or pictures. Put
your picture on your web site, casual and friendly, regardless of your
resistance to doing so
In your e-mail signature line, as well as your web site, you need at
least one, preferably more, calls to action. This can include subscribing
to your newsletter, taking an on-line quiz, contacting you for a complementary
session, informing their friends, etc. Some need only be an invitation
of text, others, like a quiz or subscription box involve advanced web
features you may need help with. For more info, see the article "Get
Results With A Call To Action"
7. INTEGRATE WITH YOUR INTERNAL MARKETING SYSTEM
Your web site should refer to your newsletter and your newsletter should
refer to your web site. Your outgoing voicemail greeting and e-mail signature
can refer to both. Create a system for engaging your prospective clients
and building your relationship with them using the pieces you have put
in place.
Remember that 80% of sales are made with 5 or more contacts; your web
site can be an integral part of how you build your relationship with your
prospective clients in the process of helping them decide to make the
wise decision to work with you.
Over time, you can add content and more advanced features to your web
site that generate more traffic, provide more value, and even generates
revenue. Hopefully this article will help you get started.
