marriage counseling because it had no specific results intended. They
are ready to focus in the now and move forward with couple coaching."
CONGRATS TO Dan Trepanier (CN) who hit the ground running by partnering

This evening, thanks to my coaching (pat, pat), they had a big breakthrough.
I believe the PIL exercises brought them to this breakthrough. These
are the moments in coaching that I value so much personally. I love
being a coach! Thanks for helping me become a Master Relationship Coach.
Yeah!"
CONGRATS TO our own Annie Martinez (France) who is helping organize
the second ICF European Coaching Conference near Barcelona, Spain, May

College. I think I have between ten and fifteen already
registered. And, PCC has already asked me to come back
to teach the RESTS class next term as well.
Things are really beginning to pick up around here for
me with regard to the RESTS program. And, Mike
McCartney and I have been working together putting on
workshops for single Christians here in the Portland
area, as well. He flies in for the weekend and does a
TERRIFIC job!
Thank you, David, for all of your continuing support.
And again, you have done an incredible job with the

Relationship Coaching Technology:
BENEFITS OF COMMITTED RELATIONSHIPS
By David Steele
We have a powerful need and desire for coupling that drives us into and
out of relationships. The desire for partnership is pervasive and universal,
reaching back to the origin of our species, spanning almost every culture
and civilization.
85% of us marry at least once. In a recent survey, 94% of young adults
stated that finding a "soul mate" was one of their highest goals.
The vast majority of us want partnership and are driven into and out of
relationships seeking- what? Love? Happiness? Security? Healing? All of
the above?
Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs might give us a clue to what we want
in relationships. Once our physical needs are met (food, shelter, sex)
we pursue our higher order needs, such as emotional needs for love and
pleasure, and our spiritual needs such as meaning and purpose. As a society
we have secured our physical needs, and are evolving to prioritize our
emotional and spiritual needs.
In spite of the high failure rate of marriage and the availability of
other options, why are we still driven to pair up in monogamous, committed
relationships? There are many benefits to a committed relationship beyond
survival of the species:
REGULAR, SAFE, GOOD SEX: Committed, monogamous partners have more,
and better sex than singles and non-committed partners.
COMPANIONSHIP: We are social beings and are comforted by closeness.
Married people are healthier, happier, and live longer than singles.
INTIMACY: Emotional closeness, love, trust, mutual support, builds
and improves over time in a committed relationship, and is much more
difficult to achieve in quality and quantity outside of a committed
relationship.
FAMILY: Both children and adults thrive in an environment of stable,
long-term, multi-generational relationships.
ECONOMICS: Committed couples are financially more successful than
singles and non-committed partners.
COMMUNITY: Extended family, neighbors, churches, and other forms of
networks of supportive relationships thrive on the stability of committed
relationships.
MENTAL/EMOTIONAL/PHYSICAL HEALTH: Married adults live longer and have
fewer mental/emotional problems.
The above is an excerpt from Chapter Two of "Conscious Dating®."

Practice Tips:
TEN REVENUE STREAMS FOR COACHES
By David Steele
I believe we all have talents and gifts, and can achieve great things
by following our passion.
I discovered coaching in 1997, fell in love with it, and followed my
passion for applying coaching to relationships. Recently I compiled a
list of how I generate income, and was astounded at how far I have come
since my days as a Marriage And Family Therapist in private practice,
counting TEN revenue streams in addition to seeing clients 1:1.
If I can do it, so can you. Here is a list of my ten revenue streams,
and I invite you to consider how you can follow your passion and add each
one to your business:
TANGIBLE, STRUCTURED PROGRAMS
The public doesn't look in the yellow pages and buy an intangible service
such as "coaching," they want tangible benefits and solutions.
I packaged the relationship coaching tools I developed into my "Relationship
Success For Singles" program and "Partners In Life" for
couples, which proved to be effective in attracting clients.
GROUP PROGRAMS
Classes, teleclasses, workshops, and my favorite- the "Coaching
Team" (a model of group coaching that I developed). Classes are
popular and appeal to our potential clients because they offer useful,
practical information, are time limited, at an affordable price. Besides
generating income, class participants are our best prospective clients.
TRAINING OTHER PROFESSIONALS
Having developed my own approach for coaching clients, I offer training
for others who want to expand their practice and skills by learning
useful, proven concepts, methods, and practice tools, and not recreate
the wheel
LICENSING PROGRAMS
Having developed effective coaching programs for my niche, other professionals
can license the use of these programs.
WORKBOOKS AND MANUALS
Clients and other professionals can purchase hard copies or download
from my web site
MENTOR COACHING
My favorite- I really enjoy helping other professionals design and build
their practices. My experience and track record in building my own give
me credibility to mentor others.
COACHING COMMUNITIES
I created a community of coaches in my niche, as well as a community
of clients in my niche. People need and benefit from community participation
and support, and if they receive value and tangible benefits, they are
willing to pay for membership.
E-PROGRAMS
I developed an e-version of my practice-building program, and will be
developing e-programs for singles and couples when I finish writing
my book. Anybody know where I can find a few more hours in a day?
AFFILIATE PROGRAMS
Members of my affiliate program receive a percentage of any sales referred
to my web site. In addition, I refer to selected organizations/businesses
whose products I support and believe in, some of whom have affiliate
programs, such as Coachville, and receive a percentage.
CO-BRANDING
This is on my to-do list... partnering with like and complementary organizations
and businesses to offer our services under their name. This is an easy
way for them to add to their revenue streams, typically without cost
or effort on their part. For example, partnering with a local singles
organization to offer our classes under their name to their members
and customers.
HOW MANY WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADD TO YOUR PRACTICE?
I would love to help you transform your dreams for your practice into
reality, and generate income from 10 different directions. Contact me
